Happy Birthday to Me!

I had a pre-celebration with Uncle and family in Chadstone. It was double celebration with Mother's Day.

On the actual day, my wonderful colleagues celebrated with me at Chat Thai in Westfield after they kept me half-starved while they unwind over a bottle of wine. I understand it's a western thing to do. Although I was almost ready to eat the menu when we arrive at the restaurant, I was happy I am not eating cake by myself in my hotel. 

I also waited whole day for a greeting that came the next day. My mum have forgotten to wish me happy birthday again. Retrospectively my birthday must be one of the most painful days of her life. Every mum will tell you giving birth is like going to-fro 18 layers of hell. Anyway, I am not mad/sad or anything, don't misunderstand, it's more like worry had she fallen down or something. Besides I also forget mum's doing some much needed renovation on our hometown house. Can imagine her directing her 'don't-cheat-old-woman' stare at the renovators.

I also realize I never blow any candles nor made any wishes for this year's birthday. It must a western culture too. No candles but there's cake cutting. Perhaps I will see a shooting star this year to send my wish. Also very touched by Moo and Nite who sent the presents over from Lion City, I love all my presents very much including one giant scrap book from Cousin sister. 

All in all, it's one of the quieter birthday I've ever had.
